Why did you choose your profession?
I am passionate about making a difference to patient care, and I believe I can now do that by improving the quality of care by having the right data in the right place at the right time for clinical decisions to be made. This allows the patient experience to be greatly improved.
Who are your main influences?
The patients themselves. If I can make a difference to a patients experience and improve the journey throughout the continuum of care, this drives me and makes me even more passionate about my involvement throughout.
Describe your greatest accomplishment.
I have delivered eight enterprise master data management solutions across the world. my greatest achievement has been to master 120+ million patients in nine months with 27 million transactions a month, updating the golden patient record. This in turn allows real-time look up of a patient and alerts the healthcare professionals if there are risks or gaps in care or medication contraindications.
What tools do you use?
I have a vast experience in analytic tools, data integration tools and master data management tools including most open source software. which also includes big data and data mining, predictive analysis, prescriptive analysis, enterprise search. This also includes applying artificial intelligence throughout the methodology and toolsets.
What are you working on right now?
I am currently working on using a large number of algorithms to predict and examine behavioural patterns to create a defender versus attacker cyber security model.
What are your long-term goals?
I thoroughly enjoy being part of a team and driving innovation and process improvement. I am looking to continue this in an organisation where I can thrive and influence others. I would like to lead from the front in a Chief Information or a Chief Operating Officer role.
